Simple WordPress themes are perfect for getting a site up quick without having to fiddle with layouts, colors, etc… Designed with ease of use in mind, these themes are excellent layouts for experienced and non experienced site builders alike. Simply upload them to your WordPress dashboard, activate one and start building your site. It’s as simple as that!
This batch includes both single and double sidebar themes. To help keep site setup time to a minimal, the layouts for the themes work the same.
The contents of the sidebars are controlled by the Widgets that you insert into them. If you are not familiar with using widgets, they are very easy to set up. While on your WordPress Dashboard, you navigate to Appearance/Themes/Widgets. On the Widget page, you will see “Available Widgets” on the left and your sidebar/s on the right. You simply drag and drop the widgets you want into the sidebar you choose. Note: once you start making your own selections any default attributes will be erased. (See this post for examples.)
Sidebar 1 is also what is commonly named the “left sidebar”. Sidebar 2 is also what is commonly named the “right sidebar”.
The areas that the Widgets occupy in each sidebar are called Blocks. Each Block has a header, a background and text area. To be sure that the header shows for a Block, you must give it each widget you choose a title. Without a title for the header, it will not show; conversely if you don’t want a header for a block, simply leave the Widget untitled.
As a bit of added information for you: your posts will not show up on the page until you have the Recent Posts Widget in the sidebar where you want them to show.
These themes also allow modification to the Footer section. Upon activation, each theme will automatically display a copyright notice with the name of your site. Preinstalled anchor text for familiar site pages, (Home, Privacy, Contact, etc…) can easily be utilized with regular linking methods or deleted from the Footer area altogether. To modify the Footer area you navigate to Appearance/Themes/Footer on you WordPress dashboard. (See this post for an example.)
While you can’t change colors, headers, etc… without modifying the code in the theme files, you should be able to switch themes within this batch without problem, providing they have the same layout (are both either single or double sidebar).
I hope you will understand that since the themes are useable immediately after download I cannot offer a refund. It is the only way I have of preventing people from trying to get refunds and still use my themes. At this price, I can’t afford a more elaborate anti-theft measure. Disclaimer: please be advised that I will not provide instructions for any type of code changes to the theme files. If you want to edit beyond the scope of Widgets and other free WordPress plugins, that is your sole responsibility, just the same as WordPress plugins and Widgets are the sole responsibility of their provider.
Please look around the site and come back often. I will be adding more theme batches and some tips and tricks to help setup a WordPress site faster. Enjoy!
